April 13, 2017, is the official inauguration ceremony for the 2017 Missouri Student Association (MSA) President, Nathan Willett, and Vice President, Payton Englert. The Tigers Together duo will address the students for the first time as their student body leaders.
The Atchison County twist to this announcement is both Nathan and Payton have family ties to Rock Port High School. Nathan’s grandparents, James Hall, ’55, and Jane LaHue Philip, ’57, graduated from Rock Port High School. Payton’s mom, Jonnie Kemerling, has been the Rock Port High School Principal for the past three years.
Nathan Willett, son of David and Brenna Willett, Liberty, Mo., is the grandson of Dr. James and Lenna Hall, Gordon and Jane Philip, and Jim and Marguerite Willett. Nathan is a junior at MU majoring in Business and Economics. In addition to being the next MSA President, he is a member of Rockin’ Against Multiple Sclerosis.
Payton Englert is the daughter of Nick and Jonnie Kemerling, Rock Port, and Scott Englert, Liberty, Mo.; granddaughter of Gene and Dianne McCown, St. Joseph, Mo., Bill and Pam Englert, Hamilton, Mo., and Dave and Patty Kemerling, Rock Port. Payton is a junior at MU majoring in Health Sciences and Business. She is not only the Missouri Students Association Vice President, but also the Panhellenic Recruitment Counselor, the Greek Week Director, and on the Wishmakers Executive Board.
