I missed the quilting meeting on Thursday night, but I know the quilters were working hard at making some soldier quilts. They have made some beautiful ones.

The Gib Holmes benefit will be May 6th at the Watson Community Building beginning at 5 p.m. There will be a fish fry, drawing for raffle which is a Savage 17 gun, and choice of one of Earl Stoner’s famous necktie quilts, or a “Jailhouse Rock” quilt made by Watson Quilters and quilted by Tammy Oakes. Yes, stop by both banks in Rock Port and check these quilts out. The winner chooses the one they want, and the other one will be auctioned. Yes, there will be an auction, auctioneer, Willie Holmes, and we do need good auction items. You can notify (for ticket purchase or for auction items) Kay and Tom Gibson, Earl and Rosita Stoner, Tommy and Tammy Gibson, Cody Gibson, Tasha Gronniger, or Anna Beth Wennihan. Tickets are $1 each, $5 for 6 tickets, $10 for 15 tickets, or $20 for 35 tickets. Let’s help Gib out with all these medical bills.
