Judith Gwen Catlett, daughter of Charlotte L. (Holland) Burke and Thomas O. Catlett, was born April 21, 1946, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Judy attended schools in Sidney and Hamburg, Iowa, and Rock Port, Missouri.
Judy was a loyal and long-time employee at Missouri Beef Packers and Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port. Judy passed away on May 6, 2017, at Community Hospital – Fairfax in Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 71 years, 15 days. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port. Interment followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Hamburg.
Judy was a member of the First Christian Church in Rock Port. She was a long-time Kansas City Royals fan and also enjoyed watching football and other sports. She enjoyed “traveling” to Branson every Saturday night via RFDTV programs and visiting with longtime friends on the telephone each day. Spending time with her family was her greatest enjoyment, especially time with her grandkids. Judy will be remembered as a loving mom and grandma who loved caring for her family and sacrificed her needs to ensure her family was always taken care of.
Judy was a beloved mom, grandma, sister, and niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; son-in-law, Ron Ward; nephew, Matthew Catlett; and uncle, Clayton Holland. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Cook (Sonny) of Rock Port, and Cindy Koelliker (Art) of Hamburg; grandchildren, Tyler Ward of Sidney, Iowa, and Amber Cook (Jon Ward) of Rock Port; brother, Thomas Catlett (Linda) of Lincoln, Nebraska; uncle, J.D. Holland (Marcella) of Shenandoah, Iowa; aunt, Sandra Holland of Denver, Colorado; nephews, Timothy Catlett of New York City and Adam Catlett of Denver; niece, Tricia Krause of Tabor, Iowa; two great-nephews and two great-nieces; several cousins and many friends.
