The Missouri 8-Man Football Coaches Association will be hosting its ninth annual Missouri 8-Man Football Senior All Star Game Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at Craig Field in Spratt Stadium on Missouri Western University’s campus in St. Joseph, Mo. Forty-two of Missouri’s top 8-Man senior football players have been invited to participate in this event. They will report Thursday, July 6, 2017, to Missouri Western and practice for three days as a member of either the Green or Silver team in preparation for the event. The teams will be coached by 8-Man football coaches from the eight teams that made the state semi-finals in 2016. Once again, Coach Jonathan Schoonover of North Andrew leads the Silver Team. He is assisted by Eric Fairchild of Southwest Ludlow, Micah Breckinridge of King City, and Ben Lyles of Sacred Heart. The Green Team is led by Coach Shane Hilton of Stanberry. His assistants are Doug Fountain of Albany, Josh Peterson of South Holt/Nodaway-Holt and Ross Hastert of Rock Port. The players were drafted by the coaches, thereby pitting previous teammates against one another in certain instances.
Admission is $7 per person. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. T-shirts will be for sale throughout the contest. All proceeds go to the Missouri 8-Man Football Coaches Association. For more information, check the association’s home page at
