Bonnie Louise Mathers, 92, Maryville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017.
She was born January 5, 1925, in Clearmont, Missouri, the daughter of Ray and Olive Clark Shields and was a graduate of Skidmore High School.
Bonnie and Doyle Lavern Mathers were united in marriage May 8, 1943, in Savannah, Missouri.
She was a member of the Maryville First Presbyterian Church, and former member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Burlington Junction, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Maryville, and Rosanna Eastern Star Chapter #262.
Bonnie had worked for Missouri Western State College as a purchasing agent and for many years worked in billing for the Water Department, City of Maryville.
An avid Kansas University fan, Bonnie also loved music, and most especially loved Angus cattle, having grown up on a farm.
Preceding in death were her parents, husband Doyle Mathers (April 16, 2006), and brother Robert Shields.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Brad (Annette) Mathers, Tarkio, Missouri; her canine companion Buddy; grandchildren, Becky (Eric) Snider, St. Joseph, Missouri, Mike Mathers, Nashville, Tennessee, Clay (Trish) Mathers, Maryville, Jessica (Jay) Miller, Waunakee, Wisconsin, Brock (April) Freeman, Liberty, Missouri, Brice (Sarah) Freeman, Maryville, and Jennelle (Jake) Knight, Wichita, Kansas; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Maryville First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Skidmore.
