All Fairfax girls grades 6 – 12 are invited to participate in the 2017 Miss Fairfax and Junior Miss Fairfax contest.
Information about this year’s contests and applications can be picked up and dropped off at KG Buds or Rays’ Dairy Diner. Please submit all applications and sponsorship information by Monday, July 24, 2017.
The contest and crowning will be held on August 11, 2017, in the Fairfax City Park during the Fairfax Fair.
This year a $1,000 service scholarship will be awarded to the young lady who most represents Fairfax’s proud history and symbolizes our bright future. She should set an example for other young people in the community through service, scholarship, and character. During her year of service, Miss Fairfax will complete 25 hours of community service, attend organization meetings and serve at community events. After fulfilling her duties as Miss Fairfax for one calendar year, she will be eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship check at her graduation ceremony from the Fairfax Optimist Club. The Miss Fairfax runner-up will receive a cash prize at the time of crowning.
The candidates for Miss Fairfax and Junior Miss Fairfax will be meeting as follows (meetings will be for contestants only):
• July 27, 2017, 4:00 p.m. in the Fairfax Community Room
• August 3, 2017, 4:00 p.m. in the Fairfax Community Room
• Dress rehearsal will be held August 10, 2017, beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the park (or at the Fairfax Community Room depending on weather). Rehearsal times will be assigned at the meeting on August 3.
