The event is geared towards jr. high and high school aged kids
The Atchison County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an ALiCE Training (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate – Active Shooter Training) at the Liberty Theatre on August 6, 2017, at 5 p.m. The training will be geared towards jr. high and high school aged kids.
“It’s been on our minds since the bombing at the Ariana Grande concert in May. The kids in our community are going to concerts, Royals games, malls and even traveling overseas. We want to make sure that we can equip and empower the youth in our community to be prepared with tools and a plan of action if they find themselves in a situation involving a hostile violent intruder, an active shooter or even a bombing,” said Devon Sons, Atchison County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Parents are also welcome to attend this night. They will have hot dogs and other refreshments. If you have any questions contact Deputy Devon Sons at the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office, 660-744-6271.
