Agnes Freida Moulder was born on December 3, 1921, on the Scamman farm near Rock Port to Willie and Winnie (Oakman) Cooper.
After moving to Timberlake, South Dakota, for awhile, her family returned to the Rock Port area to farm.
Agnes attended school at Langdon, Missouri, and then graduated from the Nishnabotna school. During her last two years of school she also did substitute teaching. After high school she went to Grand Island Business College. She then moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to work as an auditor at the North American Aviation Plant.
Agnes married Carl Moulder, who was serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Washington, DC. Carl was then assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Boxer during World War II. After the war they lived in Rock Port. They had two children, and later divorced.
For several years, Agnes worked for the Atchison County Extension office. In 1974, she moved to Wichita, Kansas, where she received her LPN license. She returned to Rock Port and worked at the Maryville, Missouri, hospital and the Pleasant View Nursing Home. Later she did private home care. Agnes passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at a Rock Port care center.
Preceding her in death were her parents and a great grandson, Gabriel. Survivors include her daughter, Diana Meinders of Rock Port; son, Stanley (Cindy) Moulder of Paola, Kan.; brother, B.D. (Winona) Cooper of Fairfax, Mo.; grandchildren, James (Yvette) Johnson, Christopher Johnson, Matthew (Jackie) Brown, and Keri Lee; and great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Nathan, Katie, Benny, and Samantha.
Agnes enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, and working on family genealogy scrapbooks. She loved spending time with her family and many friends, and was very active in her church.
Services were Monday, July 24, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Church, Rock Port. Family visitation was held Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., also at the church. Interment was held at Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port. Memorials may be directed to Rock Port Outreach. Care was entrusted to Chamberlain Funeral Home, Rock Port.
