Beverly Jean (Freeman) Alkire-Schaeffer, age 68, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, surrounded by her family at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Beverly was born on August 17, 1948, in Hamburg, Iowa, the daughter of Byron and Dorothy (Hedrick) Freeman.
Beverly was married March 5, 1994, in Kansas City, Missouri to Edward (Ted) Celestine Schaeffer.
Beverly lived in Troy, Missouri, raising her two sons as she worked as a paralegal at Mueller and Suddarth Law. After her sons graduated high school, Beverly Moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to pursue her law degree at UMKC School of Law. She soon started her own law practice in Kansas City and later in Camdenton, Missouri. Beverly was a member of the 26th Circuit Bench Bar and the Post Secretary Treasurer of the American Business Women’s Association. In her spare time, she loved boating on the lake, travelling with her husband, being with nature, watching her sons and grandkids play sports and enjoying her many pets over the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Beverly attended The Church of Osage Hills.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Edward (Ted) Celestine Schaeffer, of Osage Beach, Missouri; her two sons, Brad (Donna) Alkire of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Brian (Dawn) Alkire of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; four step-children, EJ Schaeffer, Mindi (Ricky) Rooks, Bethani (Keith) Sutter, and Cammi Smith; fourteen grandchildren, Madison and Jacob Alkire, Emma and Grace Alkire, Trey and Tyler Rooks, Alexis, Melaina, Elizabeth and Kameron Sutter, and Zoe, Zachary, Zada and Zion Smith; six siblings, Connie (Bob) Edler, Kent (Karen) Freeman, Terry (Michael) Freeman-Hagan, Jane (Bill Fehr) Dunn, Chad (Tammy) Freeman and Kevin Freeman; and many other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life was held Friday, July 21, 2017, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach.
