A one-vehicle accident left an Omaha man with moderate injuries August 2, 2017, on I-29. The accident occurred at 4:05 p.m. on northbound I-29 at the 103 mile marker approximately seven miles south of Rock Port. A 2017 Chevy Malibu, driven by Jeffrey S. Osentowski, 51, of Omaha, Nebraska, was northbound on the interstate when the vehicle traveled off the east side of the roadway, struck several small trees, and a ditch. The Chevy Malibu came to rest off the east side of the roadway on its wheels, facing northeast. Osentowski, who was wearing his seat belt, suffered moderate injuries and was transported by an Atchison-Holt ambulance to Community Hospital-Fairfax in Fairfax, Missouri. The Chevy Malibu sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Double M Towing to the lot in Rock Port.
The accident was investigated by Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper A.J. Foss, who was assisted by Corporal S.M. Hux, Trooper N.A. Regan, the Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, and the Rock Port Fire Department.
