NASA astronaut, Dr. William Fisher II, MD, is the great-grandson of Billy Fisher. As a mission specialist on space shuttle Discovery, Dr. Fisher carried Pony Express items, including a letter written by Billy Fisher. He also took a belt buckle into space which is on display in the museum. At 4:00 p.m., Dr. Fisher will make a special speech concerning his great grandfather (a Pony Rider) and his adventures as an astronaut. He will be on site in the Messick Gallery, 1 – 5 p.m. at the Pony Express Museum.
