Enel Green Power North America (EGPNA) is currently renovating the former Shopko building on Main Street in Tarkio to serve as the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) building for its Rock Creek Wind Farm in Atchison County. Interior demolition of the building began in July, and the renovations are expected to be completed by November. The completed space will include a mix of offices, meeting rooms, and a storage and maintenance shop for the 300 MW Rock Creek Wind Farm. EGPNA also plans to complete a handful of additional property improvements.
EGPNA always aims to generate positive impacts in the areas surrounding its projects and the company felt strongly that revitalizing the former Shopko building on Main Street for its O&M facility would provide an additional boost of economic development that would directly benefit the downtown area, while also providing the Rock Creek employees with the opportunity to engage more closely with the Tarkio community for the life of the project.
