James A. (Jim) Warbritton, the son of Ralph and Francis (Van Allen) Warbritton, was born August 7, 1932, in Ashland, Nebraska. He attended Ashland High School and in 1951, he joined the United States Army, where he earned his GED.  Jim served in the Army, until retiring in 1978.
In 1989, Jim was united in marriage to Joan Rotter in Savannah, Missouri. They made their home in Tarkio, Missouri.
Jim was a member of the “Vine Street Gang,” loved restoring antique cars, and hanging out and drinking coffee at Tohill’s Garage. Jim passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, Missouri, at the age of 85.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Glenn and Jack Warbritton, and one niece, Jeri. Survivors include wife, Joan, Tarkio; daughter, Andrea Hall and husband, Lelan, Rolla, Missouri; two grandchildren, Shannon Bruns and husband, Jeff, Tarkio, and Melanie Abbott, Glenwood, Iowa; four great-grandchildren, Brendon, Chloe and Sydnee Bruns and Bailey Abbott; brother, Bill Warbritton and wife, Laverne; and nephew, Mike Warbritton and wife, Janie, all of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
No memorial services or family visitation are planned. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
