EA Wolves

The EA Wolves brought home second place in the Nodaway-Holt Volleyball Tournament. Rock Port’s Lady Jays and East Atchison Lady Wolves competed in the Nodaway-Holt Invitational Tournament Saturday, September 16, 2017, in Graham, Missouri.
Rock Port won its first match against South Holt in two sets, 25-13 and 25-13. Leading the Lady Jays in stats were: Aces – Kelcie Gaines, 3; Kills – Drue Kemerling, 4; Digs – Catyn Chamberlain and Abbie Hale, 3 each; and Assists – Kelcie Gaines, 5.

Rock Port lost the first set of their next match to Mound City 17-25, but won the next two sets 26-24 and 25-19 to win the match. Leading the Lady Jays in stats were: Aces – Abbie Hale, 4; Kills – Abbie Hale, 6; Digs – Catyn Chamberlain, 10; Blocks – Drue Kemerling, 5; and Assists – Kelcie Gaines, 7.
The Lady Jays claimed the championship in the final match of the tournament after defeating East Atchison in two sets, 25-19 and 25-22. Leading the Lady Jays in stats were: Aces – Abby Bradley, 2; Kills – Drue Kemerling and Abbie Hale, 4 each; Digs – Catyn Chamberlain, 4; Blocks – Drue Kemerling, 4; and Assists – Abbie Hale, 7.
The Lady Jays’ overall record is 11-8 and they are 4-1 in the 275 Conference.
The Lady Wolves competed against Nodaway-Holt in their first game of the tournament. EA won the match in two sets with final scores of 25-13 and 25-19. Individual EA stats include: Aces – Jaycee Graves 1, Kilea Cooper 3, Leslie Bradley 4, and Madison Ohrt 1; Assists – Grace Martin 1, Madison Ohrt 15, and Brynnan Poppa 2; Kills – Cat Prater 3, Jaycee Graves 10, Kilea Cooper 3, Leslie Bradley 1, Lily Graves 1, and Tawni Martin 5; Blocks – Cat Prater 1; and Digs – Grace Martin 3, Jaycee Graves 1, Jesse Graves 1, Kilea Cooper 3, Leslie Bradley 6, Lily Graves 1, Madison Ohrt 3, and Shelbey Morris 2.

In EA’s second match, the Lady Wolves defeated St. Joe Christian in two sets with final scores of 25-21 and 25-15. In the third and final match of the day for EA, the Lady Wolves lost to Rock Port in the championship, thus taking second place in the tournament.
