The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry Board met September 12, 2017, with 10 members present. Churches represented at the meeting were: Tarkio – First Baptist, St. Paul’s Catholic, Presbyterian, and First Christian; Westboro – St. John’s Lutheran and Methodist; and Fairfax – Presbyterian and Baptist.
In July, 92 individuals representing 49 families were served. In August, 100 individuals representing 51 families were assisted. Board members were reminded that all clients must have the required paperwork on file to be able to get food.
The Food Pantry schedule for the months of November and December will be changed. Due to the holidays, the Food Pantry will open one week early in each of those months. The Food Pantry will be open November 7th, 9th, 14th, and 16th, as well as December 12th, 14th, 19th, and 21st. Clients should be mindful of these earlier November and December openings.
The Tarkio Church of God and Full Gospel Church will open the Food Pantry in September. The Tarkio United Methodist Church will be responsible for opening the Food Pantry in October. The Food Pantry will be open on the third and fourth Tuesdays and Thursdays of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. The Food Pantry is also open the third Tuesday of each month in the evenings from 7 to 8 p.m.
The next meeting of the Food Pantry Board will be Monday, November 13, at 9:30 a.m. All board members are encouraged to attend. The Tarkio/Westboro/Fairfax Food Pantry is located at 415 Main Street in Tarkio.
