Patients visiting Community Hospital-Fairfax will see a new face in the Emergency and Medical Surgical Department. Katrina Lock, Family Nurse Practitioner, has joined the team. She serves in many important roles including the Family Nurse Practitioner Manager, a clinician in the Emergency Department and in a supporting role to Aron Burke M.D. for inpatients.
Katrina fills a new position developed at CH-F to provide opportunities for greater coordination of care across different patient care settings and to be the “eyes and ears” of the medical staff in the building while they are in clinic.
“Katrina has proven to be a tremendous asset to our organization. She has emergency medicine expertise and leadership experience. She has jumped right in to her role on the inpatient side and proved to be a great communicator and clinician,” explained Aron Burke, Chief Medical Officer.
Katrina’s background uniquely suits her for her position. She has served in an urgent care setting, as an instructor, in primary care and in the emergency room. She was a registered nurse for many years before receiving her nurse practitioner license in 2012.
“I am so pleased to be in Northwest Missouri. In our short time here, we have been made to feel extremely welcome. I am very much enjoying rural medicine and working with the fantastic providers in this area. I look forward to continuing to become part of the community.”
Katrina and her husband, Richard, have recently moved to Northwest Missouri from Indiana. Katrina grew up in Kansas City as a Chiefs and Royals fan and is looking forward to being closer to her favorite teams. Katrina enjoys being an Air Force mom to her son, Tyler, and a Nana to four beautiful grandchildren.
