It was a gorgeous day for wine tasting Saturday, September 30, and 2,240 people attended the Great Northwest Wine Fest to do just that. Not only was there delicious wine to be sampled from over 10 wineries, but there were also vendor and food booths spread over North Griffith Park in Mound City, as well as superb live entertainment, and grape stomping. Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation, the host of the event, held a 50/50 raffle, won by Brad Derr of Oregon, Missouri, who donated the money back to the organization. They also raffled off a wine basket, which was won by Abby McAdams of Kansas City, Missouri. Some of the entertainers included Devon and Mikaela Sons of Rock Port, pictured. Gabe Harms of rural Westboro, Missouri, is pictured taking a break next to the pumpkins. Max Hopkins of Fairfax is pictured selling his Little Red Keeper of the Bees honey.
