Representative Allen Andrews was the guest speaker at the Tarkio High School Academic Banquet Wednesday, October 11, 2017, in the THS Gym. Andrews encouraged the students to take full advantage of the educational opportunities presented to them in high school, espcially considering, he said, that Tarkio has some of the best teachers in the state of Missouri and a school willing to make time in an already busy schedule to recognize students for their academic achievements.

Over 200 people attended the 1st Annual Tarkio High School Academic Banquet in the high school gym Wednesday, October 11, 2017. Everyone enjoyed a spaghetti dinner, followed by a speech given by Missouri Representative Allen Andrews. Students in grades seven through 12 were recognized for scoring proficient or advanced on their state assessment tests last year and junior Cat Prater and senior Ricky Weidenaar were recognized for their outstanding scores on the ACT. Administrators congratulated the students and then the students went through a receiving line of jr. high and high school teachers giving their praises on a job well done.
