East Atchison’s offense and defense played a great game Friday, October 13, defeating Platte Valley 58-12.

The East Atchison Wolves hosted Platte Valley in varsity football competition Friday, October 13, 2017. The Wolves won the contest 58-12.
The game quickly became a Wolves’ game with East Atchison scoring the first two touchdowns. Ian Hedlund put the first points on the board, scoring a touchdown from a seven yard run (Shae DeRosier scored the two-point conversion). Gage Mc­Adams scored a touchdown on a 22 yard pass from Jake McEnaney (Ian Hedlund scored on the two-point conversion). Following two touchdowns made by Platte Valley at the end of the first quarter, the rest of the points were put up by the Wolves. In the second quarter, Hedlund scored a touchdown on a 15 yard run and ran in the two-point conversion. DeRosier scored again for the Wolves on a two yard run (two-point conversion failed). In the third quarter, Ian Hedlund scored six from a 37 yard run (two-point conversion failed). Briacin Bywater scored a touchdown on a 26 yard run (Hedlund scored the two-point conversion). McAdams scored a touchdown on a 17 yard pass from McEnaney (Hedlund scored the two-point conversion). Conner Marshall scored the last touchdown of the night from a three yard pass from Austin Anderson (the extra-point kick was no good).
McEnaney went five for five with 112 passing yards and had 42 rushing yards. Anderson went one for one with three passing yards. Hedlund had 146 rushing yards. Bywater had 41 rushing yards. McAdams had 112 receiving yards. Marshall had three receiving yards. McAdams had one interception.
Keaton William was the leading Wolves’ tackler with 10 tackles, three assists, and one tackle for loss. Other EA tackles included: DeRosier – nine tackles, four assists, and two tackles for loss; Hedlund – nine tackles, two assists, and two tackles for loss; McAdams – six tackles and one assist; McEnaney – three tackles and one assist; Andrew Gibbons – three tackles, four assists, and one tackle for loss; Ashton Yeary – three tackles and one assist; Zach Sapp – two tackles; Marshall – one tackle; and Trey Bowling – one assist.
The Wolves had 371 total yards to Platte Valley’s 195. EA had three turnovers to Platte Valley’s one and no penalties to Platte Valley’s six. The Wolves’ overall record stands at 6-3.
