The William White DAR Chapter met October 3, 2017, for lunch at the Mound City Nutrition Site. After lunch, the meeting was continued across the street at the Genealogy Center, with 11 members present.
The meeting was called to order by Regent Annamarie Hunziger. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America was recited and natinal anthem, led by Donna Kunkel, was sung.
The DAR Ritual was led by Regent Hunziger, reciting the American’s Creed, Preamble of Allegiance to the State of Missouri and Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America.
Chaplain, Karen Fischer, gave the devotion, “Encourage everyone to keep going – be helpful. When we give encouragement to someone, the load for both will be lighter.”
Annamarie read the President General’s Message. October is the 127th anniversary of the DAR.
The National Defense report was given by Susan Rippen, an article on “Working Dogs in Military.” All other minutes were given.
The minutes of the September 5, meeting were reviewed. The minutes were approved as read. Treasurer Rippen gave the treasurer’s report. The report was filed for audit.
Susan and Annamarie attended the District meeting at Huffman UMC in St. Joseph, Missouri, on September 13, with 80 people in attendance, including all state officers. William White presently has 32 members. The spring district meeting will be held April 19-22, at the Hilton Hotel at KCI in Kansas City.
The December meeting will be held at the Rock Port United Methodist Church. Hostesses will be Janet Watkins and Karen Miller. This will be the Good Citizen program.
The meeting was dismissed by Regent Hunziger. A tour of the Genealogy Center was given by employees Carolyn Fansher and Donna Heck. This was a very interesting tour and enjoyed by all.
