Josie Watkins, Chris Sticken, and Troy Wennihan auditioned for and were selected to the All-District Choir on September 16, 2017. Rock Port singers Watkins and Sticken and Tarkio singer Wennihan traveled to Platte County High School where they rehearsed all day Saturday, October 28, and then performed a concert at 5 p.m. The clinician for the day was Dr. Cameron F. LaBarr, director of choral studies at MSU. The students performed Haydn – Gloria from Heiligmesse, Mozart – Lacrimosa, Susan LaBarr – Commissioned work “Wanderer,” Elder – Ballade to the Moon, and Barrett – Siyalobola Gogo.
Rock Port music instructor Abby Palmer said, “I look forward to this day every year. It’s where the best 100 singers out of the Northwest District come together and make incredible music. It’s such a great experience for our students!”
