Robert F. Hogue, Jr., the son of Robert F., Sr. and Alta Charlene (Freeman) Hogue, was born June 21, 1956, in Fairfield, California, while his father was stationed on Travis Air Force Base.  Robert attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1974.
Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for 10 years as a Crew Chief for the F4 Phantom and a Flight Engineer on the C141 Starlifter. Following his honorable discharge in 1984, Robert was employed as a civilian flight engineer and eventual first officer for the air cargo companies, Evergreen International, Kalitta Air, Trans International Air and Emery Worldwide Airlines. He retired from the air cargo industry in 1998. Robert then drove a tractor trailer until September 2017. Robert passed away Friday, November 10, 2017, at KU Med Center, Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 61.
Robert was a member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include daughters, Stephanie (Tim) Goodrich, Southampton, New Jersey, Charlene (Thomas) Eld, Bonney Lake, Washington, and Christine Martinez, Navarre, Florida; five grandchildren; siblings, Travis (Marsha) Hogue, Rock Port, Missouri, Brenda (Kenny) Eggers, Riverton, Iowa, and Allison Hogue, Sidney, Iowa; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio. A private family inurnment was held at Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro. Military rites were under the auspices of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199. Memorials may be directed to the Robert Hogue Memorial Fund.
