Nancy Eleanor Kyle, the daughter of Frost and Marietta (Martin) Browning, was born March 27, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri.  She attended Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri, graduating in 1950.  Nancy attended Tarkio College, earning her Bachelor’s degree in 1954 and had earned several hours towards her Master’s degree from Midland College in Fremont, Nebraska.
On August 7, 1955, Nancy was united in marriage to Newton Parker Kyle, Jr. in Tarkio. Nancy was employed as a teacher in Denver, Colorado, and then taught at Fremont Public Schools, Fremont, Nebraska. In 1972, they moved back to Tarkio, where Nancy later purchased The Flower Mill and owned and operated the floral shop until retiring in 1994. She was an avid cook and collector of cookbooks. Her cooking legacy has been influential in many of her survivors.
Newton passed away April 14, 2003. Nancy passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 85.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Ray Arvene Browning, Topeka, Kansas. Survivors include daughter, Mary Kathryn (Kate) Fisher and husband, David, St. Peters, Missouri; son, Theodore Newton Kyle, Leesburg, Florida; grandson and wife, Kyle and Alexis Melvin; and great-grandson, Vincent Paul Melvin, all of Rock Hill, Missouri.
Private family memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date at Home Cemetery, Tarkio. There is no visitation.
