The Piecemakers Quilt Guild met November 7 at Community Hospital-Fairfax at 5 p.m.
Bev opened the meeting having roll call answered with “Our favorite quilting tool.” Rotary cutters were towards the top of the list.
Jean read the minutes and they were approved. Karen gave the treasurer’s report and it was approved.
For old business we showed the Row by Row Christmas Quilt we have been working on. The top is together, now comes “making the sandwich” and quilting. It will be ready to sell chances next year to raise money for club projects.
We discussed our May program, “Quilts of the Prairie.” There are lots of interesting ideas for crafts and decorations, and we will be putting them into motion this winter.
Susan’s Dresden Plate Quilt got Viewer’s Choice ribbon at the Quilt Show. Good job!
Susan won the fat quarters.
The program was given by Jean, Bev and Donna on Anita’s Arrowhead. Despite of some of the results it is a very quick and easy block.
For Show and Tell, Gerry had her Disappearing 4 Patch to show, Rosita had a Disappearing 4 Patch table runner and some place mats, Karen had a Super Hero Quilt, and a Joseph’s Star done in yellow, blue and red. Susan had a snowman wall hanging, Bev had a quilt done with Anita’s Arrowhead blocks, and a Quilt of Valor she made for a neighbor.
Ruth won the quilt from the Crazy Quilters in Maryville.
Our December meeting will at 5 p.m. at Community Hospital-Fairfax. We will have a gift grab bag and cookie exchange.
Merry Christmas to all and we hope some of you join us in the New Year.
