East Atchison jr. varsity and varsity girls’ and boys’ basketball teams played their first games of the season Tuesday, November 21, 2017, in Maysville, Missouri.
The jr. varsity Lady Wolves lost their game 22-27. Brynnan Poppa led EA with seven points, followed by Cheyenne Gray with six, Ella Rolf, Jae Barnett, and Jesse Graves with two each, and Harley Caudill, Jaelynn Hill, and Kaely Kirwan with one each.
The EA jr. varsity boys won their contest 39-36. Kaden Cooper and Trey Bowling led the Wolves with 10 points each, followed by Briacin Bywater with eight, Gus Hurst with six, and Jordan Goodin with five.
The EA varsity girls won their contest 76-39. Jaycee Graves scored 25 points for the Lady Wolves. Other scorers included Chloe Bruns with 12, Morgan Parshall with seven (one three-pointer), Lily Graves and Kilea Cooper (two three-pointers) with six each, Tawni Martin and Mercedes Parshall (one three-pointer) with five each, Kinley Thornhill with four, and Shelbey Morris, Kaely Kirwan, and Jesse Graves with two each.
The EA varsity boys lost their game 55-63. Gage McAdams led the Wolves with 13 points (two three-pointers), followed by Garrett Meyer with 12, Ian Hedlund with 11, Colin Joesting with eight (two three-pointers), Tyler Brown and Jake McEnaney with four each, and Shae DeRosier with three.
