Ted Ronald Nixon was born November 18, 1944, and passed away November 16, 2017. Ron was the son of Ted E. Nixon and Marilyn (Smith) Nixon, previously of Tarkio, Missouri. He is survived by his wife, Anh My Thi Phan of Seattle, Washington. Ron met My Anh in San Francisco, California, where they married and lived. Other survivors include Jack D. Nixon (uncle) of Tarkio; and Ron’s brothers and sisters, George G. Nixon and family, Littleton, Colorado, Janet A. Peters, Fairfax, Missouri, and Beverly G. Smith and Brad A. Nixon, Bellevue, Nebraska, where Ron was living at the time of his passing from cancer.
Ron was a 1962 graduate of Tarkio High School and went on to graduate from the University of Missouri (Columbia) with a business degree. Ron worked as an insurance adjuster (California, Nevada, and Hawaii) early in his career and for Pacific, Gas, and Electric (PGE) San Francisco in the latter years of his career.
Ron had a passion for travel and adventure. He was able to experience many places in his life, such as Hawaii, Philippines, Costa Rica, Mexico, Vietnam, Europe, Paris, France, and others. One of his favorite places was Yosemite National Park. Through the process of dying, he kept saying how thankful he was for the life he lived and the good friends he’d had.
