Santa Claus will be coming to Watson Saturday, December 16 at 1 p.m. Hope you all have been good little boys and girls.
The Watson Quilters met Thursday night with Teresa and Jim Hickok, Fran Phillips, Frances Nahkunst, Tammy Oakes, Anita Armstrong, Donna Whelan, Holly Holmes, and Kay Gibson attending. Tammy gave us our last mystery quilt story. Now, to get them all done, the mystery is solved.
Our Christmas party will be Thursday evening, December 14. We’ll have some good food and our wild Santa exchange.
A bit of Watson News from December of 1881:
“Joe Young, the leading hog buyer in Watson, has shipped a good number this fall, and expects to make large shipments this week.
E.H. Buck was elected to fill a vacancy on the Town Board. The Board is made up of temperance men and Mayor Watts is alive to the duties of his office and is determined to enforce the town ordinances.
Frank Burn, of this place, is reported to have lost $80 in a most mysterious way a few nights ago.”
