The East Atchison high school basketball teams traveled to Sidney, Iowa, Thursday, December 7, 2017, to compete in jr. varsity and varsity action.
The EA jr. varsity Wolves ended their game against Sidney in a tie of 47-47 (the game did not have a tie breaker due to time constraints). Kaden Cooper led the Wolves with 12 points (two three-pointers), followed by Briacin Bywater with nine, Gus Hurst and Trey Bowling with six each (Gus had one three-pointer), Braylen Lambert and Jordan Goodin with two points each, and Wyatt Burke with one.
The EA varsity Lady Wolves won their game 55-47. Jaycee Graves led EA with 31 points, followed by Kilea Cooper with eight (two three-pointers), Morgan Parshall with seven, Mercedes Parshall with six, Kinley Thornhill with two, and Lily Graves with one.
The EA varsity Wolves fought hard against Sidney, but ultimately came up a bit shy in overtime 54-57. Gage McAdams led the Wolves with 18 points (three three-pointers), followed by Jake McEnaney with 10 (one three-pointer), Ian Hedlund with nine, Colin Joesting with eight (one three-pointer), Max Hopkins with five, and Zach Garrison and Shae DeRosier with two each.
