The Tarkio Fire Department responded to a car fire call at Casey’s in Tarkio Wednesday, December 13, 2017. A vehicle driven by Amber Bywater of Tarkio caught fire in the parking lot of the gas station. Casey’s customer Glen Cohn grabbed the store’s fire extinguisher and put out the flames before the fire department arrived. The firemen continued to hose down the area until the car could be moved. The gas tanks were also shut off as a precaution.
