A memorial service was held for Theresa L. “Teri” Schebaum at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio, Missouri. Mr. Vic Coston officiated. A 2018 spring inurnment is planned at Center Grove Cemetery, Westboro, Missouri. Services were under the direction of Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio.
Theresa, the daughter of Orville and Alice (Smith) Dragoo, was born May 25, 1953, in Shenandoah, Iowa. She attended Shenandoah Schools.
In the early 1970’s, Theresa was united in marriage to Harry Ellis. They became the parents of son, Derek Jason. They later divorced.
On December 24, 1992, Theresa was united in marriage to DeWayne “Bo” Schebaum at the Rock Port Baptist Church, Rock Port, Missouri. They made their home in Clyde, Kansas, until 2008 when they returned to Tarkio. In 2015, they moved to Fairfax, Missouri, where they lived to the present time.
Theresa was employed as a secretary at Henry Fields Nursery in Shenandoah and then attended cosmetology school. Following the move to Kansas, she was employed as an office manager for Shelter Insurance Company until ill health forced her retirement in 2005.
Theresa had the biggest heart and was loved by all. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt and welcomed her family into her home with open arms. Theresa spoke her mind, a quality her family admired. Theresa passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at her home in Fairfax at the age of 64.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Betty and Jess Miller. Survivors include husband, Bo, Fairfax; son, Derek Jason Ellis and wife, Tiffany, Shenandoah; stepson, Derick Scott Schebaum and wife, Janice, Concordia, Kansas; grandchildren, Dalton, Dain, Devin, Cami, Autumn, Cory (Tiffany) Ribble, and Laura and Gabe Schuetz; great-grandchildren, Gannon Ellis, Madeline, Ethan, Wyatt and Sierra Crowell and Brady Thompson; special niece, Grace; two sisters, Sheryl Schultz and husband, Randy, Macedonia, Iowa, and Michelle Perry and husband, Roger, Shenandoah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
