William Jon “Bill” Bargman, the son of Robert and Maxine (Dunkle) Bargman, was born March 14, 1942, in Maryville, Missouri. He attended Westboro High School, Westboro, Missouri, graduating in 1959. Bill also attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, for two years.
On July 27, 1962, Bill married his high school sweetheart, Carol Ann Moses. They became the parents of children, Scott, Tracy, Mark, and Tricia and shared 55 years filled with life and love.
Bill was a hard worker all of his life. As a young boy he worked in farming and in 1962 he was employed by Missouri Public Service Company. Even though the company’s name was changed to Utili Corp, Bill took pride in his job and remained employed for 43 years, until retiring in 2005.
Bill never met a stranger; he found friends wherever he went. He loved his family, friends, fishing, outdoors, animals, KC Chiefs, KC Royals, music and telling stories. He simply loved life and will be forever missed. Bill passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of 75.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by son, Mark, in 1995, and daughter-in-law, Julia Bargman, in 2010. Survivors include wife, Carol, of the home; son, Scott Bargman, Smithville, Missouri; daughters, Tracy Battmer, and husband, Kent, Kansas City, Missouri, and Tricia Bargman, Lee’s Summit; grandsons, Zach and Troy Bargman; granddaughters, Emily and Amanda Battmer; sister, Roberta Anderson, Omaha, Nebraska; and a niece, Nannette Williams, Omaha, Nebraska, and nephew, Roger Goodman, Rock Port, Missouri.
Celebration of Life Family Visitation was held Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit. Inurnment will be held in the spring of 2018 at Maple Hill Cemetery, College Springs, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bill Bargman Memorial Fund.
