The Rock Port Firemen invite all to come out and support Fire Chief Scott Jones at a chili and soup (potato and vegetable beef) supper Wednesday, January 3. The meal will be served from 5:30 p.m. to ? at the Atchison County Memorial Building in Rock Port. Free will donations will be accepted to help cover Scott’s medical expenses.
An auction will take place at 6:30 p.m. Willie Holmes will be the auctioneer. Many items will be auctioned off, including a Dusty Trail’s prime rib dinner for two (once a month for a year), as well as a rocking chair custom made by Ronnie Haer; EMS throw blanket and poker set from Dan Athen and boys; a framed Katelynn Ottmann original artwork; bottle of wine in gift bag from Tiana Jones; delicious cinnamon rolls from Marlene Demott and Afton Schomburg; one of Shauna Farmer’s legendary red cakes; gas for a year (up to 50 gallons a month) from Trail’s End; a $1,000 fireworks shopping spree from Fireworks World; 4 hours of organizing-normal value $120+ from Method of Madness Professional Organizing, LLC/Nancy Ottmann Shipley; a Merry Oswald angel food cake made by Mandy Ottmann; and five Yeti Rambler Tumblers from Rock Port Fire Department. Organizers are still seeking items to auction off. If anyone has something they would like to donate, please contact Chad or Mandy Ottmann.
Please come to the Memorial Building this Wednesday night and enjoy homemade soups, corn bread and dessert while supporting a fireman and first responder who has given countless hours to this community.
