Without doubt the largest farm sale that will be held in Atchison County this season was the Fred Fischer estate sale held last Friday by the administrators of the estate, Mrs. Ella Fischer and George W. Boettner. Receipts totalled more than $23,000.00 and a huge crowd was present to run up the bid on many pieces of farming equipment to far more than the equipment is quoted on the regular market. Scarcity of some implements caused the high bidding. Hubert Siegel, the auctioneer, worked at top speed, but even then it was late in the afternoon before all items had been sold.
