• Winners from Tarkio in the annual Elks Hoop Shoot in Shenandoah, Iowa, were Tyler Rolofson, Jamie Knierim, Eric Cosand, and Ambera Wennihan.
• Three new police officers will be patrolling the streets of Tarkio in the immediate future. These officers are Tim Kallas, Paul Inman, and Ron Harmon.
January 18, 1968
• First National Teller Tells: We wish to invite all of our friends out to “Oleo” on July 4 for a snowball fight. The drift in our backyard cannot possibly be entirely melted before that and if we have any additional snow fall and wind, we will also provide skiing at that time. One compensation, however, came out of the storm. The hens were confined to their quarters so nothing else to do they turned in a generous supply of eggs and at least relieved us of any prospect of starving.
• Miss Virginia Irvine was presented the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree at the winter opening convocation January 4 in Schechter Auditorium at Tarkio College.
January 22, 1943
• Announcement was made today by President Collins of the appointment of former Tarkio girl Miss Frances Marie McPherson of St. Joseph to take the position vacated by Prof. Arthur Lindstrom as head of the music department. Prof. Lindstrom was recently inducted into the army, but was granted a two-weeks furlough to complete his duties at the college for the first semester.
• The Tarkio High School Indians marked their seventh straight victory of the season here Tuesday night as they rolled to a 46-21 victory over the Hopkins high school Bulldogs.
