Atchison County Development Corporation Board meeting unapproved minutes from Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
Present:  Lori Seymour,  W.C. Farmer, Craig Corken, Roger Martin, and Lydia Hurst.  Also present:  Monica Bailey, and Carol Clark.
Call to Order by Seymour.
Minutes:  Martin  moved to approve minutes as presented. Corken seconded and all approved.
Financials:  Martin moved to approve financials as presented.  Hurst seconded and all approved.
Director Report
·2018 scholarship application is available now.  The letter and application have been sent to all 3 high school counselors and to board members, and are available at ACDC.  Applications are due to ACDC by Wednesday, February 28.  Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to each school, one for traditional 4-year education and one for technical training/community college programs.
·Preparations are underway for Great Northwest Day at the Capital on February 6-7.
·2018 Business Improvement Grant application and guidelines will be available at the office and on the website (www.atchisoncounty.org) by Tuesday, January 16.  Applications must be postmarked on or after February 1. $10,000 was budgeted for this program.
· ACDC’s community business lunches will be held on Wednesdays in March.  Rock Port (March 7), Tarkio (March 14), Fairfax (March 21), locations TBD.
· The 2018 Annual Meeting will be held on September 12, 2018, in Rock Port (location TBD).
New Business
Tarkio Fire Department has requested assistance with funding to upgrade their Jaws of Life equipment.  The cost of the equipment is $32,750 and as of December 2017, $21,000 had been raised.  Farmer moved to donate $1,500 to the Tarkio Fire Department.  Hurst seconded and all approved.
