On January 16, 2018, in partnership with Mayor Chris Chamberlain and the Rock Port Board of Aldermen, the Rock Port School District recognized and thanked the following individuals and first response agencies for their service, sacrifice and commitment to the patrons of Atchison County: Rock Port City Police, Rock Port Fire Department, Atchison County Sheriff’s Department, Atchison-Holt Ambulance Service, local doctors and nurses and EMS 911 Services.
In our small town there are great services and many caring individuals who are ready to step in during times of need. Their sacrifices often go unnoticed as they work behind the scenes. These individuals are the first to jump into action when there is a emergency, accident, fire or injury. There are many volunteers who give back to our community to provide safety, security and comfort in times of need. The Rock Port community is fortunate to have these individuals and agencies looking over them.
The first call is a first responder. Dispatchers, firefighters, police officers, paramedics and EMT’s are our superheroes. When called, they are there and their jobs are far from easy. They work long crazy hours around the clock and rush to scenes helping complete strangers without thinking twice.
In situations where first responders are called some forget that they are taking time away from their families to help others. When they go out on a call they witness difficult situations and act with poise and courage. Know that you are recognized and your bravery, sacrifice and commitment to the people of Northwest Missouri is appreciated.
A round of applause erupted in the gymnasium for their dedication and commitment to serving Rock Port and Atchison County.
