Hotel Opp was taxed to capacity and had to hustle a lot of extra beds last Saturday evening when a troop of 76 soldiers and two officers decided to make Rock Port headquarters for the night. When the group arrived, some fifty of them got their suppers at the Central Cafe and the remainder at The Ritz. The two officers expressed their satisfaction at the treatment they were accorded here and stated they had been told by other members of the army, who had previously enjoyed the town’s hospitality, that this was a good place to stop. On Monday night a convoy of other soldiers with ten heavy army trucks pulled into town and remained here for the night.
