Deana M. Boettner the daughter of Oscar L., Sr. and Ruth (Adams) Moore was born January 23, 1924, in Watson, Missouri. She attended Highland country school north of Rock Port, Missouri, and graduated from Rock Port High School in 1941.
On July 12, 1942, Deana was united in marriage to John H. (J.H.) Boettner in the Wilshire Wedding Chapel in Los Angeles, California, and they became the parents of two sons, Jay and Steven. They began their life together in California and then lived in various other places around the country while J.H. served in World War II.  They moved to Atchison County after his discharge. In 1948 they moved to the family farm north of Rock Port and began farming.  Deana and J.H. enjoyed 70 years together before his death in 2012. Deana passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port at the age of 94.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9, 2018, at the Rock Port Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Grange Hall Cemetery, Rock Port.  Service will be conducted by Pastor Richard Boettner. Open visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8,  at Minter Funeral Chapel in Rock Port. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Deana was an active member of the Rock Port Baptist Church where she served in many capacities.  She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter DU, Rock Port. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of various bridge clubs. Most important to Deana was spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by them all.
Besides her parents and husband, Deana was preceded in death by brothers, Byron, Donald, Ralph and Oscar L. Moore, Jr., and sisters, Doris Brown and Helen Beasing.  Survivors include sons, Jay (Marge) Boettner, Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Steven (Cynthia) Boettner, San Jose, California; grandchildren, Danita Boettner, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Scott (Amy) Boettner, Madison, Wisconsin, Erin (Chris) Blume, Wichita, Kansas, Jason (Erin) Boettner, Travis (Kimberly) Boettner, all of San Jose, and Kelli (Richard) Chou, Santa Clara, California; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Corey and Aimee Blume, all of Wichita, Luke and Addison Boettner of Madison, and Jackson, Claire and August Boettner of San Jose; sister-in-law, Margaret Moore, Rock Port; and numerous nieces and nephews.
