Garfield Bailey consigned seven head of cows to the St. Joseph market the first of the week and saw one of the animals, which weighed 1,630 pounds, bring a net return of $190.60 at 12 cents a pound. The other six averaged 1,411 pounds and sold at 12 1/2 cents. This looks like a lot of money for cows sold on the open market, and compares well with prices which have been received at public sales for milking animals.
