Moila (Strickler) Bilby, age 97, of Washburn, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at her home.
She was born June 16, 1920, in Craig, Missouri, the daughter of Warren and Edith (Lower) Strickler. On November 16, 1940, she was united in marriage to George M. Bilby, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, and two grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons, George Bilby of Washburn, Missouri, Gary Bilby of St. Joseph, Missouri, and Ross Bilby and his wife Cheryl of Rosendale, Missouri; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Moila received her master’s degree from Northwest Missouri State. She taught school and was a librarian for several years at St. Joseph and Forbes school in Missouri and also taught in Oklahoma and Texas. In 1977 she moved to southwest Missouri where she raised cattle in Barry and McDonald counties. She continued to maintain crops in northern Missouri even in her later years. She attended Cassville United Methodist Church and was a strong Democrat.
Services were held Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Schooler Funeral Home in Fairfax, Missouri. Burial was at Tharp Cemetery near Craig, Missouri.
