Dr. Seuss’ 114th birthday was celebrated with a party attended by some of his favorite fans at Tarkio Elementary, including Liam Liechti and Bailey Vannausdle, above right, on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. The party was led by storytellers from Peru State College, Dr. Bill Clemente and Ted Harshbarger, who read some of Dr. Seuss’ books, including The Cat in the Hat, Hop on Pop, the Foot Book, and Green Eggs and Ham. To go along with the books they were reading, the children made Dr. Seuss hats, popped bubble wrap, put all their shoes in a pile in the gym and had a race to see who could find their shoes and get them on the quickest, and dined on green eggs and ham, hat shaped cupcakes, and green juice in the cafeteria. The event is sponsored annually by the Mule Barn Theatre Guild.
