Piecemakers Quilt Guild met March 13, at 5 p.m. at Community Hospital-Fairfax.
The meeting was called to order by Bev with 10 members present. Roll call was answered with “A quilting tip.” Most of these came about by learning from our own mistakes – imagine that.
We are getting geared up for our May meeting with the quilt guild from the Maryville area. We discussed our menu and the crafts and the gift bags, and are getting them all together.
Latest word has it that our Christmas quilt has been finished and we will soon have it on display and selling chances – hooray!
For our Show and Tell session Donna R. had a quilt with 1,000 (yes 1,000) one-inch pieces in it. It was done in black and white assorted fabrics. She said it only took two years to complete.
Rosita had made a Garden Hat, Sara had a Carpenter’s Star quilt, Diane had a Log Cabin done in florals, Shirley had an Attic Window Panel quilt, and Donna H. had her Bible Block of the Month quilt. Shirley also had an aqua and white Chevron quilt, and Donna also had a quilt of Valor quilt.
Bev won the fat quarters.
We discussed some program ideas for our new year beginning in July.
Sara gave the program and each of us learned to make another new and quick block. We have learned to make a new and fairly quick and easy block each month this past year. It has been a great learning experience. Come join us and see.
Sara served refreshments and the meeting was adjourned.
