The Commission met Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Present were: Presiding Commissioner Curtis Livengood, North District Commissioner Jim Quimby, and South District Commissioner Richard Burke. Susette Taylor, Clerk of the Commission was working with Computer Information Concepts, Inc., and a group of Missouri elected officials on a final design process to identify future Missouri modifications and enhancements to anticipate for an all-inclusive county software program.
Presiding Commissioner Livengood called the meeting to order.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Bills were reviewed, approved and ordered paid.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Adam Meyer and Ben Aldrich with Murphy Tractor presented bid specifications for a John Deere excavator and a John Deere motor grader. Both pieces of equipment are from the state bid specifications. The excavator will be ready for demo in a week. No decision on purchase will be made until the demo is presented. If the commission agrees to the new grader the 2001 or 2003 grader will be sold.
Todd Schuler, lead auditor with the Missouri State Auditor’s office, was in to visit with the commission, answer questions, and discuss the current process for the ongoing audit.

The commission discussed the possibility of adding a generator to power the courthouse in the event of outages in conjunction with a new heating and cooling system to eliminate window units.
Rhonda Wiley, 911/Emergency Management Director, was in to report of department matters. She stated that Cooper Nuclear Station had requested doing away with the textcaster alert system and moving to an intergovernmental agreement held by Otoe County for alerts in Atchison County. The commission was not in favor of this and wanted the alert system for Atchison County to remain in Atchison County.
