David Roger Deardorff (Papaw) passed away March 31, 2018, at Linden Court in North Platte, Nebraska, following a recent illness.
David was born on August 25, 1946, in Maryville, Missouri, to Everett Amos and Alberta (Jones) Blanche Deardorff. David was raised in Fairfax, Missouri, and attended Northwest Missouri State College. He later attended the State of Missouri Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy.
David married Linda Williams and had two sons, Bret and Bart. David was married two other times.
David was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Charles Everett. David is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bret and Kristi Deardorff and grandsons Brody and Brennan of North Platte, and son, Bart Deardorff and grandson Brock of Mundelein, Illinois. He also has a nephew, two nieces and their families.
David spent much of his career in law enforcement in Atchison and Nodaway counties in Missouri. He served on the Northwest Missouri Major Investigations Squad and as a crime scene photographer. He also loved photography and was a photographer for many years. In his later years, David held a variety of jobs.
David’s loves in life included shooting, hunting and fishing. He was an avid shooter who won many awards at shooting contests. Some of his favorite moments were spent at the “220” hunting with his friends. David was always a cowboy at heart. He also loved a good joke or prank.
In his later years, David’s greatest love was being Papaw to his grandsons Brock, Brody and Brennan. He loved every minute of attending or hearing about their activities or spending time with them.
A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements made by Carpenter Memorial Chapel.
