The Fairfax High School Class hosted the 2018 Strut Your Mutt 5K Saturday, April 7, 2018, in Fairfax, Missouri. Several local residents and their mutts participated in the event, despite the cold temperatures. Ian Hedlund and his pooch, Miley, top, finished 1st. Other participants included Alicia Straub and her dog, Darlin, above middle, and Yoda and his family, Sophia and Jackie Martin, above.

The 2nd annual “Strut Your Mutt” 5K sponsored by the Fairfax class of 2020 was held on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Fairfax City Park. This year, 24 people were in attendance with 18 dogs.  Even the cold temperatures could not dampen the enthusiasm of the walkers and dogs. After check in, the dog owners and handlers had time to dress up their dogs with a scarf and let them socialize with the other dogs. The participants walked the marked off route ending at the bottom of the city park.
Awards were given out, along with doggie bags of treats. Each participating dog earned a dog bone as well. This year’s awards went out to the following: 1st place – Ian Hedlund and Miley; 2nd place – Cheyenne Gray and Pearl; 3rd place – Mercedes Parshall and Bentley; Most Behaved – Cat Prater and Watson; Cutest – Natalie Hedlund and Charley; Most Prissy – Traci Burke and Mya; Scruffiest – Marsha Straub and Oscar; Youngest – Tate Johnson and Brody; Oldest – Braden Graves and Sadie; Top Dog – Kerri Baker and Lucky; and Fluffiest – Brynnan Poppa and Sage. The class would like to thank those that participated and everyone is looking forward to sponsoring another 5K in the fall.
