The Pettijohn and Crawford Funeral Home in Mound City, Missouri, was once the T.W. McCoy residence, built in the late 1800s.
Judge R.B. Bridgeman built this home in Oregon, Missouri, in the early 1900s and his family lived there for several years.
The Holt County Historical Society will host Century Homes II at the Society’s Methodist Church Museum in Fortescue, Missouri, on Sunday, April 29, 2018. The event will begin at 2 p.m.
In November 2017 a program, Holt County Century Homes I, was planned by society board member, Cindy Kenny, Maitland, Missouri. Featuring many older homes, it brought a large crowd to enjoy many histories and a slide presentation.
The upcoming program will feature new slide photos and the interesting histories of two of Holt County’s elegant older homes.
Wanda Turner and Doug and Joan Turner House, Oregon, Missouri, will share photos and the history of their beautiful home on Pine Street there. It was built in the early 1900s by Judge R.B. Bridgeman.
Judith Crawford Long, Mound City Missouri, will share the history of the beautiful Pettijohn and Crawford Funeral Home on north Nebraska Street in Mound City. She grew up in the large home built in the late 1800s by T.W. McCoy. It was later owned by her grandfather, William Crawford and her parents, Jim and Iris Crawford.
