The April 19 meeting of the Community Hospital Auxiliary opened with 20 members present, reciting the Auxiliary Prayer. Roger Steinkruger gave the Administrative Report. Minutes of the previous meeting and the treasurer’s reports were given and approved as read.
It was reported that our spring bake sale was successful. We appreciate the community’s continued support of our efforts.
The Sunshine Corner Gift Shop has many new items including jewelry, purses, and beautiful seasonal items. Stop in and take a look when you get the chance.
Many of our members are choosing to personally donate funds to increase the amount in our Scholarship Fund. We are appreciative of everyone’s willingness to give what they can to help the area youth and in the long run, future health care professionals.
We are continuing to sell chances on the beautiful queen size “Atchison County Stars” Quilt. The quilt was designed and pieced by Judy Laflin at Quilters Boutique, and quilted by Studio T. The tickets are $1 each or 7 for $5. The tickets can be purchased at the Sunshine Corner Gift Shop or from any Auxiliary member. The winner will be drawn on Saturday night of the Fairfax Fair.
We are also looking forward to our spring plant sale on Thursday, May 10, 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the hospital conference room. These plants would make wonderful Mother’s Day gifts! As always, the proceeds of our fund raisers will benefit Community Hospital-Fairfax.
