The Junior High Choir sang “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” and “Do You Feel the Rhythm?”

The High School band performed “St. Petersburg March,” “Shrek Soundtrack Highlights,” “Nathan Hale Trilogy,” and “Hawaii Five-O.”

Individual awards were also handed out to the students. The Rookie of The Year award was presented to Gena Mitchell. The Most Improved Marching Bulldog award went to Jesse Graves. The Outstanding Bandsman award was presented to Shanna Gilpin. The Patrick Gilmore award went to Leslie Bradley. The John Philip Sousa award was presented to Tacy Mitchell.

The Fairfax R-3 Pre-K through 12th Grade Spring Program was an entertaining event that filled the gym with family and friends May 8, 2018. Many musical performances were enjoyed by all and awards were also presented to the older students for their respective achievements.
The 4th graders got the night going with performances on their recorders, playing “Hot Cross Buns,” “Grandma Grunts-Duet,” “On The March,” “Rolling Along,” and “Old Mac’s Farm.” The 4th graders include Cyle Gilpin, Austin Helfers, Joaquin Hill, and Tate Johnson.
The 5th grade band continued the musical performances with “This Old Man,” “First Time Out,” and “Rock This Band.” The 5th grade band members include: French Horn – KayDee Duering ; Trumpets – Kendall Kingery and Bryson Palmer; Trombone – Blake Simmons; Percussion – Clayton Vernon and Luke Swinehart; Baritone – Wyatt Wolfe; Flute – Velvet Williams; Alto Saxophone – Cowen O’Riley; and Clarinets – Payton Woodring and Grace Oswald.
The 6th grade band performed “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “Ayre and Dance.” The 6th grade band members include: Percussion – Collin Hedlund and Destiny Smith; Trombone – Trenton Kingery; Baritone – Ty Kirkland; Clarinets – Chloe Potts and Jasey Smith; and Tuba – Owen Wolfe.
