Dear Editor and Rock Port Business Owner/Community Member,
Last year Pleasant View planned a trip to a Kansas City Royals’ game for residents, accompanied by their necessary caregivers, and local businesses generously pitched in for the tickets.
Again for this year I ordered 15 tickets directly from the Royals, thereby obtaining Royals group rate pricing. The seats have necessary wheelchair accessibility plus adjacent seats for caregivers, plus are under the first level for protection from inclement weather or hot sun. They are also near the public restrooms.
For any others interested in attending, the game date is Wed., May 16, with game time of 1:15. The tickets for Pleasant View are located in section 245. You would specify that date and section when ordering your own tickets.
Now I’m looking for businesses and individuals to help sponsor this fun outing for our seniors. Each ticket cost $32, so can I count on you to pay for one, two, or even four tickets? If we raise more money than necessary, it will be given to Pleasant View for another outing.
We’ll do a follow-up story in the Atchison County Mail covering who attended and who the ticket sponsors were. We may even give the score, but only if the Royals defeat the Tampa Bay Rays.
Join me in sponsoring this fun outing for residents of Pleasant View.
Sincerely,
Eric Chamberlain
