The Tarkio R-I Board of Education met in special session May 9, 2018, in the board meeting room at Tarkio High School. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Board President Jeff Meyer. Members present were Chris Yates, Steve Klute, Sam Hannah, Garrett Wood, Lydia Hurst, and board secretary Diane Hicks. Board member Jamie Barnett was absent. Others in attendance were Tarkio R-I Superintendent Karma Coleman, Bill Joesting, and Mike Farmer.
The board voted to approve the agenda with a change to 7:00 p.m. on the start time of the meeting.
The board reviewed and discussed the blueprints of Heartland Recreation Center. The board voted to approve the resolution between the school district and Heartland Rec. The board also voted to approve the removal of asbestos at Heartland Rec in the amount of $20,646 and the elementary gym floor in the amount of $208,000.
